Paul Robinson insisted Celtic will do everything in their power to prevent Odsonne Edouard from leaving this summer after an "outstanding" season.

The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested keeping the 22-year-old will be the top priority at Parkhead.

Edouard arriving in the summer of 2018 in a club-record £9million deal after impressing whilst on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Robinson admitted when a player wants to leave more often than not they get their wish.

"Money talks and if a player wants to move on they often do," he told Football Insider.

"Celtic will do all in their power, after the season he has had, to try and hold onto him.

"Should they not, their scouting network and their ability to unearth these players when they lose one has been impressive over the years. I suspect Neil Lennon and his staff will have a contingency plan or a list of players and targets should he leave. They will have a value of what they want for the player so they will know what they can spend on another player.

"The main priority will be to keep him because he has been outstanding. He has improved the players around him with his work rate off the ball."

Edouard has enjoyed another superb season with The Hoops – scoring 27 goals in 45 appearances to help Neil Lennon's side close in on a 10th consecutive league title.
