Sevilla enforcer Steven N'Zonzi has jetted into the UK for talks with Everton and Arsenal, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that Sam Allardyce is eager to strike a loan deal to see N'Zonzi, 29, join up with the Toffees until the end of the season in order to add a bit more steel to his midfield options.

It is understood that N'Zonzi flew into Gatwick Airport on Tuesday evening to visit his son, but while in England he will enter discussions with the interested Premier League sides.

Sevilla are said to have allowed the 6ft 4in France international to leave the club in January, but it is reported that it is unlikely anyone will meet the £32.5million buyout clause in his contract.

The Daily Mail adds that Juventus are interested in midfield colossus N'Zonzi, who has not played a single game since mid-November after falling out with Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo.

Football Insider verdict

Everton have shown a great deal of improvement since Allardyce was appointed in charge and are now in a much better position than they were midway through David Unsworth's caretaker leadership. However that shouldn't stop Allardyce from wanting to improve his side in January because they are still not quite at the level required. The Toffees need more aerial presence in their side and N'Zonzi will definitely bring that with his height and physical attributes. He is someone who has a lot of experience in the Premier League and in La Liga so could easily be one of the best players at Goodison in the second half of the campaign. A loan deal with the view to a permanent one would be a clever piece of business.
