Tottenham are willing to sell Cameron Carter-Vickers for £4million next month, Football Insider understands.

The defender, 21, is on a season-long loan at Stoke City but has lost his regular starting place since Michael O'Neill took over as manager.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider that the club are set to listen to permanent offers for Carter-Vickers ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is highly rated by Tottenham

The Premier League giants have the option to terminate Carter-Vickers' loan at the midway point and recall him to London.

He could be sold permanently if they receive an offer that matches their £4million asking price.

The centre-back is on his fourth consecutive loan at a Championship club after spells at Swansea City, Ipswich Town and Sheffield United in the previous three seasons.

Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino used to speak highly of Carter-Vickers, who has been capped by USA eight times but made just four appearances for Spurs.

He played regularly at both Sheffield United and Ipswich before initially struggling to break into the Swansea side, before he became a regular in the second half of last season.

At Stoke, the versatile defender, who can play at both centre-back or right-back, has started 12 league matches this season but has failed to make the matchday squad for the last four fixtures.

Carter-Vickers has a contract at Tottenham that runs until the summer of 2021.
