Noel Whelan has tipped Jack Harrison to reach new heights next season after he sealed a permanent switch to Leeds United last week.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the newly-hired Leeds ambassador challenged the 24-year-old to emulate Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.

Leeds United confirmed the signing of Harrison on a three-year contract from Manchester City last week.

Whelan predicted a call up to the England squad is around the corner for Harrison.

"Harrison is still young," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.

"He is such a quality player. It is all about consistency for him next season. Every year we have seen a progression from him.

"I'm going to go out on whim and say he will get an England call up next season. There is no doubt, the ability is there.

"He contributed a lot goals and assists last season and as a winger it is all about your stats.

"You have to look at Sancho and Sterling because that is who he has to emulate. That is Harrison's benchmark."

Harrison contributed an impressive eight goals and eight assists in 36 appearances last season.

Only Patrick Bamford was directly involved in more goals for Marcelo Bielsa's side.
