Eberechi Eze's move to Arsenal is nearing completion following their hijacking of the winger's move to North London rivals Tottenham.

Eze looked set to join Tottenham before Arsenal's sensational last minute swoop for the Crystal Palace forward.

Having chosen to move to Arsenal, Eze is now close to completing a deal after the two clubs agreed to terms in swift fashion.

It is expected the deal will be finalised in the coming days with Eze reinforcing Mikel Arteta's attack, and here's five things for Arsenal to know about their new star man.

Eze was born in Greenwich, Greater London, on 29 June 1998 to Nigerian parents, making him eligible to play international football for both Nigeria and England.

Having trained with the Nigerian national team at stages in his career Eze hasn't ever appeared for a Nigeria side, playing for England at under-20, under-21 and senior level, despite attempts from the Nigerian football association to switch his allegiances.

Who has Eberechi Eze played for?

Eze began his career for Arsenal but was released from their academy at the age of 13, leading to the forward joining Fulham and Reading's youth setups.

Following spells at those clubs Eze signed a two-year scholarship with Millwall but left the club at the end of the 2015-16 season having not been offered a professional contract.

Eze's next stop was Queens Park Rangers, where he'd feature once off of the bench before joining Wycombe Wanderers on a six-month loan deal in August 2017.

On his return to QPR in January 2018 Ian Holloway thrust Eze straight into the first team where he'd remain for the next 18 months before moving to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020, where he's played up until his move to Arsenal this week.

During his time at Crystal Palace Eze played with Michael Olise, with the two attackers forming a dynamic duo behind forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Eze has also shared the pitch at Selhurst Park with Liverpool transfer target Marc Guehi and Daniel Munoz, who both played an integral part in the club's FA Cup win in May 2025.

What's Eberechi Eze's interests outside of football?

Eze is a keen chess player, being taught by former attacking partner Olise, with the two often seen playing each other on Palace's social media channels.

Two weeks before leading Palace to their FA Cup win, Eze won an online amateur chess tournament beating American gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and Youtuber Sapnap on his way to bank $20,000 in prize money for winning the tournament.

What is Eberechi Eze's biggest career achievement to date?

Throughout his time at Crystal Palace Eze has scored some memorable goals but none will be more fondly remembered than his winner for the club in the FA Cup final.

Eze finished neatly after a cross from Munoz to give Palace the all important lead over Manchester City giving the club their first piece of major silverware in the club's history.
