Wojciech Szczesny will return to Arsenal after Roma decided not to sign him on a permanent deal, Football Insider sources understand.

Szczesny is on a season-long loan at Roma, who have an option to buy him at the end of the season.

But Roma have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian keeper Allison from Internacional, leaving Szczesny out in the cold.

A Roma source has told

Football Insider

that Szczesny has been told by the Italian club that his loan will not be turned into a permanent deal, which means he will have to accept a role as back-up to Petr Cech or find a new club.

Jurgen Klopp is also in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer despite sanctioning a lucrative new five-and-a-half-year contract for Simon Mignolet in January.

The Pole is rated in the £10million bracket by Arsenal and the Londoners could cash in on him before he enters the final two years of his current deal.
