'Frightening' - Exclusive: Paul Robinson reacts as Wolves transfer hunt reported

Paul Robinson has been left drooling over the prospect of Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin joining Wolves this summer.

The former Tottenham and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the Frenchman would form a “frightening” partnership with Adama Traore at Molineux.

The Daily Mail report that Nuno Espirito Santo has set his sights on the Newcastle 22-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window, with fears Traore could depart after his impressive performances.

However, Robinson believes Wolves should be looking to put the two of them together alongside the likes of Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez – although he fears for their defence.

Robinson told Football Insider: “A player like that would be a good addition for any team and I think the more the level of his performances grow for Newcastle, the more he’s going to draw attention from elsewhere.

“That would be a very, very sharp forward line, full of goals as well. Him and Traore together would be a pretty mean partnership.

“I wouldn’t fancy the defensive holes they left behind going forward, they’d be a frightening pair. You’d certainly have a quick ball over the top with them!”

Saint-Maximin has caught the eye with his enigmatic performances at St James’ Park this season, the Frenchman joining Steve Bruce’s men from OGC Nice in the summer window.

He has a total of just two goals and two assists for the north east heavyweights, although his pace, power and trickery have not gone unnoticed.

In other Wolves news, Robinson has been left raving over one Molineux ace after his impact on the side.
