“He showed at time what Manchester City have been missing in the forward areas.

“At times he was a little bit greedy and if he had released the ball a bit earlier Manchester City might have come away with a win. That might be down to his lack of game time though. He hasn’t played a lot. His eye might not quite be in.

“Overall I thought he was excellent though. He took his goal really well. It was obviously a set move they’d worked on. He did really well.”

Jesus has contributed seven goals and 10 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions this season.

His contract runs until the summer of 2023.
