BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has named Tottenham forward Son Heung-min in his Team of the Week after the South Korean scored in Spurs’ 4-0 win v Bournemouth.
Perhaps surprisingly Son is the only Spurs star featured in Crooks’ XI, as the side was made up of three Man City players, two Everton players, two Man United men and one apiece from Stoke and Liverpool.
Son has been in red-hot form recently and helped himself to another goal as Tottenham thrashed the Cherries at White Hart Lane.
Mousa Dembele, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen also netted to secure a fine three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Although Kane has returned to action now, many fans believed Spurs’ title charge would be derailed when he limped off v Millwall – but Son has stepped up to the plate.
The 24-year-old has five goals and an assist in his last four Premier League matches and has hit form at the right moment.
In his BBC Sport Team of the Week article, Crooks wrote of Son: “He was brilliant against Bournemouth and seldom lets Mauricio Pochettino down when called upon.
“There are a few players in the Tottenham set-up who have distinguished themselves this season but the most improved Premier League player in my opinion is Son.”
Overall the South Korean has 19 goals and eight assists in his 40 league and cup appearances this campaign.
Tottenham’s victory on Saturday, and Chelsea’s failure at Old Trafford on Sunday, means the gap at the top is now just four points.
With six games to go in the title race and a crucial FA Cup semi-final between the sides next weekend, Spurs fans will hope that Son’s red-hot form continues.
In other Tottenham news, Frank Lampard has give his verdict on the title race – Spurs fans will love this.
