Gary Lineker delivers verdict on Sanchez display for Arsenal in win v Middlesbrough
By Matt Farr
BBC pundit Gary Lineker has praised the performance of Alexis Sanchez in Arsenal’s win over Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Monday.
Lineker took to his personal Twitter account following the 2-1 victory for the away side to deliver a short but sweet verdict on the Arsenal attacker’s display, insisting no Middlesbrough player ‘got near him’.
Nice touch from Sanchez giving his shirt to a youngster. No one from Boro got near it.

Sanchez scored a superb free-kick to put Arsenal ahead just before half-time, but continued to cause problems for the Middlesbrough defence with his movement and persistence throughout the remainder of the tie.
He earned himself a much-deserved man of the match award for his efforts, but more importantly, handed Arsenal only their first away win since January.
Sanchez, 28, has often been the answer to Arsenal’s problems this season, having scored 22 goals and supplied 18 assists from 42 appearances in all competitions.

Alvaro Negredo’s equaliser early into the second half gave Arsenal a minor scare, and another potentially devastating setback to their top four ambitions.
But Mesut Ozil stepped up to the plate with the much-needed winning goal for the visitors, which moves them back up ahead of Everton into sixth place in the Premier League table.
They are, however, still seven points adrift of the top four, with time fast running out to land themselves a qualification spot for next year’s Champions League.
