German expert: Klopp confident of summer deal for Bundesliga sensation
By Matt Farr
German football expert Lee Price has revealed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is confident of landing Julian Brandt this summer.
The 20-year-old winger has been ripping it up for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga this season, and is reportedly high on the Liverpool summer transfer radar.
However, Liverpool are expected to face fierce competition from European heavyweights Bayern Munich, but Price believes Klopp will be confident of landing his man.
He told the Daily Star that Klopp’s reputation with young players will put him ahead in the race, with the Anfield chief set to shun interest in big-name talent in favour of a deal for Brandt, one of Europe’s most exciting prospects.

Price said: “Jurgen Klopp prefers to shun the signing of big name players, instead focusing on younger talents that he can develop. And the latest prospect on his radar is Leverkusen wideman Julian Brandt.
“It would be a surprise if Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich aren’t in for Brandt too – what with Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery ageing, and Kingsley Coman due to return to Juventus this summer.
“But Klopp is confident of landing his man, with his reputation with young players edging him ahead in the race.”
The winger, who can play on either side of the midfield as well as in a secondary striker role, has drawn the plaudits this season with three goals and seven assists from 33 appearances.
He had previously scored 10 goals and supplied eight assists during the 2015-16 season, where Leverkusen achieved a third-place finish in the Bundesliga.

Liverpool will be in the market for further quality out wide, despite the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane performing well this season. They have already been linked with a host of targets, but Brandt appears the most realistic solution to their winger search, and it seems as though Klopp already has a strong relationship with him. That should give him the advantage over the likes of Bayern Munich, although the German giants will likely have something to say about that. Brandt has the quality and the potential to become a real force in the Premier League and in Europe, and would be a fine addition to the Liverpool ranks.
In other Liverpool transfer news, a PL manager has confirmed his interest in signing this Liverpool defender, a fee of £25million could seal the deal.
