Steven Gerrard will be “buzzing” to have Ryan Jack back fit and firing for Rangers, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Gers defender and lifelong fan at Ibrox, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 28-year-old brings an extra “drive” and “force” to the Light Blues’ midfield in comparison to his teammates.
The defensive midfielder came off the bench against Ross County to make his first appearance since November and marked his comeback with a goal in the 5-0 win.

He has the likes of Steven Davis, Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara, Bongani Zungu and Scott Arfield for competition in the middle of the pitch.
However, Hutton believes Jack offers something a little bit different to his midfield counterparts and suggested Gerrard would be delighted to have him back available.
“I read that he’s been working hard in training and look, I think it’s brilliant to see him back,” Hutton told Football Insider.
“You can see in the half an hour that he played what he brings to the team – that drive that he’s got, the force going forward, and arguably the pick of the goals. I mean, nearly everybody touched the ball, I think, and them for him just to slot it away was a great welcome back.
“I’m sure Gerrard will be buzzing to have him back within the squad and fit and healthy because there’s some big games coming up.”
Jack has played 18 times across all competitions this season, with his goal against Ross County his first of the campaign.
Gerrard started with a midfield three of Kamara, Davis and Aribo, while Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent supported Alfredo Morelos up front.
