Tottenham great Glenn Hoddle has hailed reported Spurs target Kylian Mbappe as the “biggest prospect in Europe.”

The Daily Mirror reported in February that the north London club had joined the race to sign the highly-rated wonderkid.

The 18-year-old has wowed onlookers this season with a stunning return of 19 goals and 11 assists in 33 outings for Monaco in all competitions this season.

He is certainly a bright prospect and now Hoddle, who featured for both Tottenham and Monaco during his playing days has made the huge claim that Mbappe is the best youngster in Europe.

“For Monaco, Mbappe is probably the biggest prospect in Europe,” started Hoddle speaking to Unibet.

“He’s 18, he’s got pace, he’s a goal scorer, he’s a threat and he has better stats than Thierry Henry at Monaco.

“Monaco know how to bring these young players through. (David) Trezeguet, (Anthony) Martial, and now they’ve got another one.

“It’ll be very difficult for them to keep hold of him.

“He’s a little bit like Thierry Henry, he likes to go wide and he can go either side and that’s where he uses his pace to get right behind the defence and be a real dangerous threat.”

To be considered one of the best in Europe is a huge feat in football, but Hoddle believes he is already the best at his young age and it shows how far Tottenham have come that they are now being linked with players like this.

The north London club are currently progressing nicely under manager Mauricio Pochettino and finished in third place in the last campaign, while they are currently battling Chelsea for the Premier League title.

There is currently seven points between Spurs and and the Blues with seven matches to go and although the title may prove too far away this season, signings like Mbappe could help them take a step further.
