Leeds fans on Twitter have aired their optimism over the signing of Mateusz Klich after it was reported on Thursday that he was undergoing a medical.

The 27-year-old is currently contracted to Dutch top-flight club FC Twente, but has been linked with a move to England following the appointment of Thomas Christiansen last week.

It now looks as though the Dane could be closing in on his first summer signing and the club’s second after Hadi Sacko with Yorkshire Evening Post chief writer Phil Hay claiming via his personal Twitter account on Thursday that the player was undergoing a medical after a £1.5million deal had been agreed.

Leeds fans are always keen to see their side bring in players and Klich is no different with the news receiving a positive reaction from supporters on social media.

One fan went as far as to say that the club are now on their way back to the Premier League, while others simply posted “good news.”

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Klich played in 29 matches for FC Twente in the Eredivisie in the last campaign, returning six goals and four assists.

If he completes his move to Leeds then he will be looking for similar success in England.

In other Leeds transfer news, the Yorkshire giants are firm favourites to sign this 21-year-old Premier League striker.
