Graham Roberts claims Tottenham 26-year-old is superior to Liverpool ace
By Dominic Toner
Graham Roberts believes that Liverpool defender James Milner has had a great season, but is not at the level of Tottenham favourite Danny Rose.
Milner has been transformed into a left-back this campaign by Jurgen Klopp and has looked assured in the defensive position.
The 30-year-old has stepped in for the inconsistent Alberto Moreno and has left his midfield days behind him.
Rose, 26, has emerged as Spurs’ first-choice left-back in recent seasons and is enjoying another fine season for the north London club.
Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys described Milner as the “best left back in the Premier League” right now, but ex-Spurs player Roberts responded and disagreed with him.

“(Milner has) Had a great season but no Danny Rose been incredible Richard,” Roberts said, as cited by his official Twitter account.

Rose played a major role in Spurs’ third-placed league finish this season and is one of the most consistent performers again this season under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The defender has also established himself as first-choice with England and is preferred to Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand.
Milner is no longer in contention for England after announcing his retirement in 2016, but was only ever considered for a midfield position during his national career.
Rose has been unfortunate this season with injuries, but is now beginning to recapture his best form.
He has made 15 appearances across all competitions and scored the winning goal on Tuesday as Spurs won 2-1 against Burnley.
