Graham Roberts: I wouldn't swap this Tottenham quartet for anyone in the world

By Amir Mir

Graham Roberts has stated that he wouldn’t swap the Tottenham quartet of Kyle Walker, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose for any defence in the world.

The former Spurs defender delivered high praise of the senior men who have been in top form for their Champions League chasing team this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has moulded his side into a solid defensive unit that had conceded only 20 goals during their 27 matches in the Premier League.

Over the course of the season, the Argentine has played either a back three or a back four with injuries to the likes of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, and Rose occurring during the campaign.

Despite Chelsea leading the way in the title race with a defence that has conceded the same amounts of goals as Spurs, Roberts still wouldn’t swap it for any other back four in the world.

“I would not swap, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose for any defence in the world at the moment,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Sensational the lot of them.”

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has also played a huge part in the north London club building such a solid base at the back.

This strong defence has helped the club win 16 of their 27 league games, losing three, while they are also unbeaten at White Hart Lane this term.

Pochettino will be hoping his team can build on this success and reach the semi-final stages of the FA Cup when they take on League One outfit Millwall on Sunday afternoon.
