Darren Bent believes Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko is going to get a lot more game time after his performance against Bournemouth.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Spurs striker stated that he thought Sissoko was set for a big boost under Mourinho and admitted he thought it was very deserved.

Sissoko has played 19 times across all competitions for Spurs this season and made his first start under new Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Cherries.

Bent explained that Sissoko was a Mourinho-type player due to him always putting in a shift and due to his ability to impress in multiple positions.

When asked if Sissoko would have grabbed Mourinho’s attention with his latest display, Bent told Football Insider: “Sissoko is definitely a Mourinho-type player.

“He puts a shift in, all the time, he’s non-stop running, can play in several different positions, and he’s one of those players who you can put in any position and he is a dependable member of the squad.

“So for me, I think he is going to get a lot more game time, which I think he should do as he deserves it.

“And it was good to see him get a goal on Saturday.”

The 30-year-old scored only his third goal of his Spurs career against Bournemouth on Saturday despite that being his 144th appearance for the club.

Sissoko has been with Spurs since joining from Newcastle United in August 2016 and is contracted to stay with Mourinho’s side until 2023.

In other Tottenham news, Paul Robinson claimed Jose Mourinho had given one Spurs player a ‘Vote of confidence.’
