Hearts would be ‘silly’ not to sign Rangers striker Bojan Miovski now – Michael Stewart

Hearts should look to include Bojan Miovski in a deal as Rangers look set to sign Lawrence Shankland in the upcoming transfer window.

That’s what Michael Stewart has suggested, with the Scot believing it would be silly for the Jam Tarts not to look at the North Macedonia international as an option to bolster their attack.

Shankland’s move to Ibrox is undoubtedly sensible for the Gers, but they will surely be looking to move on from one of their number nines as a result.

The former Aberdeen centre-forward has failed to kickstart his career at the Glaswegian outfit and could potentially find Tynecastle Park an exciting prospect as Derek McInnes’ team get ready to play in the Champions League qualifiers.

Danny Rohl hasn’t shown much faith in Miovski at the Govan side, and with Youssef Chermiti and Ryan Naderi already at the German manager’s disposal, the 26-year-old may not have a future in G51.

Bojan Miovski let down at Rangers

Speaking on the Scottish Football Social Club on 25 May, Stewart said, “Maybe Miovski on loan, part of the deal. I think it would be silly not to look at something like that. Miovski is a top-class finisher. And if you had a chance to get him, Hearts are an incredibly attractive proposition when you look at what’s happened. In the Champions League qualifiers. You never know.”

Miovski moved back to Scotland after just one season with Girona in search of regular game time, but was left disappointed in the 2025-26 campaign.

Russell Martin picked the North Macedonia international over Chermiti in his starting lineup at the Gers, but Rohl’s arrival changed that.

The Portuguese striker has enjoyed the 37-year-old head coach’s favour and has delivered in the big games.

As for Miovski, he was to fend for minutes in the second half of the season, especially after Naderi’s arrival in the winter transfer window and was never really given a chance to prove himself.

Danny Rohl has reason to smile at Ibrox

While Rangers suffered a disastrous end to the season, Rohl has no concerns about his future despite some sections of the fanbase wanting to see him gone.

Dundee centre-back Luke Graham is also a target at Ibrox, and sources have told Football Insider that the Gers must outbid Portsmouth to get a deal over the line.

Andrew Cavenagh is backing the German manager with his actions and it’s clear that the American owners are fully behind him.

Rohl doesn’t need to worry about his future at the Govan side and the club look ready to provide him with every tool to succeed in G51.
