'He'd walk into the XI' - Exclusive: Robinson wowed by Pearce's huge Liverpool transfer reveal
Paul Robinson was blown away by the prospect of Thiago Alcantara signing for Liverpool after James Pearce revealed that the midfielder is keen on a move to Anfield.
The former England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested that the 29-year-old would come straight into the title-winning side.
The Athletic claim that the Bayern Munich midfielder is keen on a move to the Premier League and would jump at the chance to work with Jurgen Klopp.
The Spain international, who is into the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena, would be available for £30million.
Robinson claimed a transfer is firmly on the cards with the Reds gaffer a keen admirer of the playmaker.
“Liverpool would do very well to get a player that fits straight into the starting XI but Thiago could do that,” the former goalkeeper told Football Insider. “He is a fantastic player.

“They almost need two squads next year, Liverpool, to compete on all fronts. A huge overhaul is not needed, they just need bolstering.
“Thiago is an outstanding player and Klopp knows him very well. He has admitted that he admires him so, depending on funds, I would watch this space.”
When asked about the potential signing of Thiago, Klopp said: “Thiago Alcantara is a really good player.
“I like him a lot but that’s all I have to say about that.”
