Danny Mills heaped praise on Aston Villa for targetting a move for Chelsea attacker Pedro in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international claimed he thought Pedro would definitely add quality to Villa’s current squad.
It was previously reported that the Villans’ January transfer plans included an ambitious swoop for the Blues winger with him starting to find his playing time limited at Stamford Bridge.
Mills explained that if Pedro was surplus to requirements at Chelsea then there will be many teams interested in him in January.
When asked about Pedro being linked to Aston Villa, Mills told Football Insider: “Pedro is a quality player, he has won everything there is to win.
“And if he is surplus to requirements at Chelsea, obviously no doubt there will be many teams who will be very interested in him and I can see why.
“He’s got pace, experience and he can get you a goal, all of these type of thing, and he’ll certainly add quality to Aston Villa’s side that’s for sure.”
The 32-year-old has played nine times across all competitions for Frank Lampard’s side this season, racking up one goal and one assist in the process.
Pedro has been with the London club since joining from Barcelona in 2015 and has played 192 times for the Blues.
The experienced attacker is contracted to stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season with his last contract extension coming in August 2018.
