Parkhead legend Henrik Larsson believes that Celtic must make sure that they put themselves in for a big payday when someone from the Premier League stumps up the money for Kieran Tierney.
The Hoops made an emphatic statement about the 20-year-old’s future on Monday when it was confirmed that he had penned a six-year deal, keeping him at the Scottish champions until 2023.
Larsson thinks that a lot of teams from south of the border will be keeping close watch of Tierney, especially after the Daily Record reported that 17 scouts from the Premier League were in attendance to watch the Scotland international play against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Tierney’s new long-term contract will very likely see his transfer value shoot through the roof when that is added to how well he is currently performing and how intense the interest is in him.
Now, former Celtic and Barcelona star Larsson believes that the Hoops will be able to demand a big fee once someone does eventually make a move.
“There’s a lot of people watching him from the Premier League so you need to make sure that it’s going to cost them when they go for him,” he said, as shown on BT Sport Football’s official Twitter account ahead of kick-off against Bayern.

Tierney has been in sensational form for Celtic this season, making 23 appearances across all competitions and scoring two goals in the process, with his most recent being a thunderbolt of a strike against Aberdeen.
