'He's a machine' - Exclusive: Bent drools over West Brom ace giving Bilic edge over rivals
Darren Bent has lauded West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore as a big reason as to why he thinks the Baggies will win the Championship this season.
The former Aston Villa and Tottenham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists that the 30-year-old’s experience and attitude gives Slaven Bilic’s men the edge over their rivals.
The central enforcer has been a mainstay for West Brom during their push for promotion back to the Premier League, the midlands outfit four points ahead of second-placed Leeds United.
With 150 Championship appearances under his belt, including a successful play-off run with Hull City, Bent says that Livermore’s know-how will prove invaluable between now and the end of the campaign.
Bent told Football Insider: “You look at the disciplinary record and I think Livermore and Sawyers are at the top of it, which is funny because I think those two are the most influential in that team.
“I really like them two in the middle of the park. You’re right about Jake Livermore, he understands it, he’s got a very, very good engine, he’s a machine.

“He gets about really, really well, puts tackles in, he’s a commanding presence, I really like Jake Livermore, I liked watching him when he was at Spurs, a good player, knows what he’s doing and that’s why I think West Brom are going to have the edge over all of them.
“I think they just know how to get the job done.”
Both Livermore and Sawyers have eight yellow cards each, a number shared by 10 other players in the Championship this season.
The former has featured 32 times in the league this season, his only absence as a result of picking up five bookings in six games between October and November.
