Alex Bruce insists he would not be surprised if Liverpool made a move to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore this summer.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes Jurgen Klopp could do with the attacker’s “lethal” pace as part of his squad for next season.
Le 10 Sport report that Liverpool are among a number of high-profile clubs who are plotting a potential raid for the 24-year-old this summer, with Manchester United and Manchester City also in the hunt.
However, Bruce believes that Anfield could be the former Barcelona youngster’s next destination, suggesting that he would offer a dangerous alternative to the likes of Mo Sahah and Sadio Mane.
Bruce told Football Insider: “It wouldn’t surprise me if someone like him is bought by Liverpool because he’s got such good assets. He’d be a handful for anybody to play against and useful for any club to have in their squad.
“The pace and power that he has, I believe it’s the biggest asset you can have in football.
“To have someone with that blistering pace, who can unravel defences like he can and when he takes it on the outside, he’s lethal. I think he could add something to all those teams, including Liverpool.
“We know that they don’t need players to come into the first-team, they just need players who are going to boost the squad and if someone’s going to come in and give them something, obviously not as a regular player but to come off the bench and play when needed, you need a healthy squad at every club.”
Traore has been one of the standout performers at Molineux this season, with six goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
He has played all across the front line for Nuno Espirito Santo, as well as featuring as a right-wing back.
In other Liverpool news, Paul Robinson has tipped a fringe figure to play an “integral” role for Klopp next season.
