West Ham are likely to send rising star Nathan Holland out on loan in January, Football Insider can reveal.
The speedy Hammers winger, 21, made his second appearance for the club in their 4-0 mauling by League One outfit Oxford United a fortnight ago.
Holland was one of few players from Manuel Pellegrini’s side to emerge from the humiliating defeat with any credit after playing 57 minutes before being substituted.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the coaching staff do not believe Holland is quite ready to challenge for a first team place.
They regard him highly but believe his development would be best served by going out on loan in the January window and getting first-team experience.
The Premier League club are now planning to listen to loan offers for the versatile attacker, who can play on both wings and in the number 10 role.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in late August how Pellegrini had put the block on Holland going out on loan in the first half of the summer amid interest from the likes of Bolton Wanderers.
The club are now preparing to make a U-turn on their plan for his development.
Holland demonstrated his immense potential by providing two assists for West Ham Under-21s in their 4-3 win against Cheltenham Town last night.
The Manchester-born former Everton youth prospect has been widely tipped to be the next Hammers youngster to make a big impression at first-team level.
Capped by England at Under-19 level, he has scored nine goals and supplied 13 assists in 39 Hammers Under-23s games.
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that the club are ready to sell in-form player for £5million in January.
