Odsonne Edouard has switched agents in a development that is set to have a massive bearing on his Celtic future, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Frenchman is now being represented by London-based sports agency Stellar Group whose blue-chip clients include Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish.
Edouard, 22, was previously represented by little-known French agents who secured his club-record move to Celtic in 2018 after a successful year on loan.
The striker’s move to global giant Stellar will fuel speculation of a Premier League transfer this summer.
Celtic were successful in fending off interest in their prize asset during the summer window after slapping a prohibitive £40million price tag on him to scare off suitors.
But they have failed in attempts to secure their prize asset to a new contract.
His current deal, signed when he joined permanently from Paris Saint-Germain, expires in 2022.
Edouard’s future will now be a big talking point this month, and certainly in the months that follow if he remains at Celtic.
There was strong interest in the Frenchman last summer from clubs south of the border but they were put off by the asking price.
That interest is certain to escalate given the contacts and experience of the Stellar agents.
Edouard remains Celtic’s star player but has been nowhere near as effective as his sensational 2019-20 campaign when he was named the Scottish Player of the Year.
Nevertheless, he has an outstanding record for the Hoops of 66 goals and 36 assists from 132 matches.
