Huge Tottenham boost, Kane will be back for landmark clash
By Harry Sykes
Harry Kane is in line to return for Tottenham’s landmark clash against Chelsea next month, the club have revealed.
Spurs released a statement on Tuesday night to explain that Kane suffered ankle ligament damage during the team’s FA Cup quarter-final win against Millwall on Sunday.
The club stopped short of putting a timeframe on the striker’s recovery but are confident the injury is “not as severe” as the one sustained in September than sidelined him for seven weeks.
It means Kane is likely to be in contention for the mouthwatering FA Cup semi-final showdown against Chelsea on the weekend of 22/23 April, which will be six weeks after his second serious injury of the campaign.
A post on the Premier League club’s official Twitter feed read: “We can confirm that Kane sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during Sunday’s FA Cup win against Millwall.

“The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in Sept last year, however it is not considered to be as severe.
“Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he undergoes his rehabilitation at our training centre.”

Kane’s goals will be hard to replace as he is the joint Premier League leading scorer with 19 goals and, in all competitions, has struck an impressive 24 times from 29 matches.
It is expected that Son Heung-Min will be tasked with spearheading the attack, backed up by Vincent Janssen, while the main man is sidelined.
Kane left White Hart Lane on crutches and with his right ankle in a protective boot after breaking down 10 minutes into Tottenham’s 6-0 FA Cup demolition of Millwall.
