Alan Hutton admits he is “desperate” to see Aston Villa starlet Keinan Davis sign a new deal before the end of the season.

The former Villa and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, claims the 22-year-old has “got everything” to become a top striker at Villa Park.

Davis put pen to paper on a three-year deal back in 2017, meaning he will be out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Football Insider exclusively revealed back in September that the club had lined up talks to get the striker tied down but he is yet to commit his future to the Villans.

Hutton believes the promising hitman has got a huge future ahead of him and has urged the club to get the forward’s contract situation sorted as soon as possible.

Hutton told Football Insider: “There’s other boys, like Keinan Davis, I think he’s out of contract. He’s one I would be desperate to tie down even though he’s had his injury problems this season.

“I think he’s got everything to be a top centre-forward. It’s just as a club where you see them in the future.”

Davis signed his first deal at Villa after undergoing a trial back in 2015, and has made 57 appearances since breaking through the youth system.

He has managed to play just 14 times for the club this season, injury sidelining him between October and February.

In other Aston Villa news, Hutton believes one big talent is pricing himself out of Villa Park after turning down a contract deal.
