Alan Hutton has ripped into the “embarrassing” theatrics of Leeds United defender Diego Llorente against Aston Villa.
The former Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa would be fuming with what he saw from the 27-year-old on Saturday.
The Spain international hit the deck and appeared to be in serious pain after a challenge from Ollie Watkins in the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat.
However, an enraged Llorente was back to his feet and moving freely seconds later after Watkins tried to haul him off the ground.
Villa ended up winning the game 1-0 thanks to an Anwar El Ghazi strike.
Hutton ripped into the centre-back for his behaviour and suggested his manager would not have taken kindly to his actions.
Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “It was a bit embarrassing, wasn’t it?
“I think he did about four rolls and then when Ollie Watkins picked him up he was absolutely fine.
“You just don’t want to see it. We speak about all the time, people going over too easy, diving in the box and just diving in general.
“It’s not nice just to be like that. For it to be so in your face and obvious the way it was, it just makes it 10 times worse. I can’t imagine Bielsa being too happy with it.”
Llorente has only recently returned to the Leeds starting XI after recovering from a hamstring problem.
He has made just four appearances for the Whites during what has been an injury-plagued campaign.
