'I feel regret' – Radrizzani reveals the reason why Leeds ace quit Elland Road
Andrea Radrizzani has said that Leeds wanted to keep Rob Green last summer, but that the goalkeeper wanted a guarantee that he would be the club number one.
The Leeds owner was talking in an AskLUFC Q&A session on the new LUTV app, along with recruitment man Victor Orta.
The first question was direct and was addressed to Radrizzani, asking the owner, “Who got rid of Rob Green?”
Green played all 46 of Leeds’ Championship games last season but wasn’t guaranteed to be the club’s number one and left for Premier League Huddersfield.
That didn’t work out for him though and he has only played one EFL Cup game for his new club.
Radrizzani also said “I feel regret for him” as it hasn’t worked out for him at Huddersfield, but made it clear that it was the player’s choice.
The Q&A session was broadcast live for free on the new LUTV app and some of the Radrizzani’s quotes were reported by Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Radrizzani on 'who got rid of Rob Green' last summer – said Leeds were happy to keep him but Green wanted a guarantee to play as number one. "He preferred have his chance to move out. In the end he didn't get many minutes where he went."

Leeds have suffered from goalkeeper problems this season with new number one Felix Wiedwald dropped earlier in the season before winning his place back from veteran Andy Lonergan.
Wiedwald has come in for more criticism from Leeds fans in recent weeks after some high profile mistakes.
