Ibrahim Mbaye: Everything fans should know as Aston Villa set sights on PSG gem
Ibrahim Mbaye could soon be the next young and exciting talent to walk through the doors at Aston Villa this summer.
The 18-year-old winger has gained a lot of attention since breaking through at the Parc des Princes, making 39 appearances since the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.
While his minutes have been limited under Luis Enrique, he has notched a goal and two assists, even with a mid-season break at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
Now, it would appear that Unai Emery’s side are the latest to join the race for Mbaye’s signature [Daily Mail], and the Villans are targeting more youthful players ahead of the summer.

VISIT THE VILLA TRANSFER HUBIbrahim Mbaye is a rising talent in Ligue 1
Mbaye is one of Ligue 1’s fastest-rising talents. However, with a contract running until the summer of 2028, any deal for his signature is unlikely to come cheap for the Premier League club.
He currently earns £14,700-a-week, totally up to £785,000-a-year, but given the Villans’ high wages at Villa Park, that amount of money should be no problem this summer.
Villa would have to take into account that he’ll likely be unavailable during December and January when AFCON is taking place, but that problem only emerges every four years.

The youngster has a lot of improvements to make if he is to become the player that many expect, but the early signs are promising, and the Villans are clearly impressed by his performances thus far.
What could PSG gem’s arrival mean for those at Villa Park
Mbaye has failed to make it off the bench in PSG’s last three Champions League games, but given all of the talent at Enrique’s disposal, it is not at all surprising to see him struggle for game time.
That is exactly why a move to Villa Park could be on the cards, especially with Champions League football very likely next season, but his arrival could throw the cat amongst the pigeons this summer.
Bayern Munich are the latest to join the Morgan Rogers race, and Jadon Sancho has not done enough to earn a permanent move to Villa Park.
It would undoubtedly mark the end of Leon Bailey’s time at Villa, and Emery clearly has some exciting plans ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
