Ibrox Sources: English clubs 'lining up' to sign Rangers midfielder in Jan, Gerrard open to deal
Multiple English clubs are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty in the January window, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish midfielder, 23, has made just five appearances for the Glasgow giants this season and has been frozen out since mid-August.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that EFL clubs are “lining up” to take Docherty back down south after his outstanding spell in League One last season.
Manager Steven Gerrard is open to loaning out Docherty for the second half of the season if he remains on the fringes of his side.
Much will depend upon how Rangers squad is affected by the intense fixture schedule in the end of November and December.
The title chasers have managed to avoid serious injuries in midfield this season and a clear pecking order has emerged in the centre of the pitch.

Ryan Jack and Steven Davis are the clear first choices ahead of Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo, with the likes of Andy King and Andy Halliday failing to get much game time.
Docherty once again failed to make the bench for yesterday’s 2-0 SPL triumph over Livingston as Jack, Kamara and Aribo started in central midfield, with Davis on the bench.
The former Hamilton midfielder has failed to even make a matchday squad for the last three months.
He returned to Ibrox in the summer after spending last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town.
Docherty made a huge impact for the League One club, scoring 10 goals and supplying 11 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.
