Rangers believe they have their own midfield diamond in Glen Kamara and he will be worth £10m-plus next year.

The Ibrox kingpin, 24, has been on the radar of clubs south of the border including Leeds United and Aston Villa as well as former side Arsenal.

The interest of the English giants did not materialise in the summer window but will intensify if he maintains his outstanding start to the season.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider the club are convinced Kamara's value will skyrocket beyond the £10million mark by next year.

Manager Steven Gerrard hailed the capture of the Finland international from Dundee in January of last year as an "absolute steal".

Kamara started superbly when he joined and had a fine 2019-20 campaign without delivering consistently excellent performances.

But the central midfielder has really shone in the new campaign and delivered perhaps his best performance yet in a Light Blues shirt in Saturday's 2-0 win at Celtic.

Kamara epitomised the mobility, energy and tactical discipline of a Rangers side who squeezed all the space in which Neil Lennon's side could operate.

Kamara failed to make the grade at Arsenal after joining at youth team level, but he ignited his career when heading north of the border to join Dundee in 2017 on a free transfer.

He made 64 appearances for the club and has now played a further 68 times for Rangers, including eight league starts among 13 matches this season.
