Thibaut Courtois will be passed fit to make his comeback for Chelsea in their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Saturday, according to a reliable journalist.

Courtois, 24, missed the west London club's 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United last Sunday due to ankle injury.

It prompted concern at Chelsea that their number one goalkeeper would also be absent for the showdown at Wembley as the team take a break from their title bid to secure the win needed to reach the final of the world's most glamorous cup competition.

But journalist Kristof Terreur, who works for Belgian newspaper HLN and has close links to the Premier League-based players from Belgium, claims the giant 'keeper will return to face Spurs.

Terreur wrote on his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would announce that Courtois is available for selection on Saturday.

The return of Courtois, who has had an outstanding season in goal, is almost certain to mean that his deputy Asmir Begovic drops back down to the substitute's bench.

Spurs will be hoping for a repeat of their last outing against Chelsea, in which Dele Alli scored a headed brace in a 2-0 win at White Hart Lane back in January.

The other semi-final between Arsenal and Manchester City takes place on Sunday.
