Leeds striker suffers training ground injury today - confirmed

Leeds United striker Oliver Sarkic suffered an injury at the club's Thorp Arch training ground headquarters today (Friday), it has been confirmed. The forward, 20, broke down after landing awkwardly while playing for Leeds' Under-23s in their Professional Development League clash early this afternoon. As reported on the official
of the match, Sarkic had opened the scoring after four minutes when he found the net from close range. But he limped off after 26 minutes of the encounter and was replaced by Adrian Balboa, with his team already 2-1 up. last month that Sarkic, 20, had converted his half-season loan from Benfica into a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee. He put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal, which has the option to be extended by a further 12 months.
Sarkic moved to Elland Road last summer initially on loan from the Portuguese giants and has impressed club chiefs with his performances in Carlos Corberan's Under-23s squad. The Montenegro youth international was one of a number of new arrivals in the development squad last month as he was joined by Finnish centre-back Aapo Halme, striker Sam Dalby, midfielder Jordan Stevens and goalkeeper Kamil Miazek.
