Mark Noble is well placed to be given the all-clear to take his place in the West Ham team this weekend, Football Insider understands.

The Hammers midfielder broke down with an ankle injury in the first half of the 3-0 defeat to Burnley before the international break.

A West Ham source has told Football Insider that scan results have showed that Noble suffered a sprained ankle but he is making good progress in his rehabilitation and hopeful of making himself available to face Tottenham.

Noble, 32, will be closely checked by the club's medical team ahead of Saturday's 3pm kick-off.

Manuel Pellegrini is eager to call upon the long-serving midfielder and skipper, who remains a key member of the starting XI.

Noble has started 10 of West Ham's 12 Premier League matches this season and his central midfield partnership with Declan RIce is the foundation of Pellegrini's side.

The Hammers collapsed against Burnley following Noble's 20th-minute withdrawal and he is regarded as key by the Chilean in terms of setting the team's standards on and off the pitch.

Since graduating from the West Ham academy, Noble has made an incredible 478 appearances for the club where he has spent his entire senior career.

He has a contract at the London Stadium that runs until the summer of 2021, 17 years after he made his debut aged 17 in a League Cup tie.
