Liverpool and Arne Slot have been handed unwanted news after Alisson trudged off against Galatasaray with an injury.

Hugo Ekitike has been included in the France squad for the upcoming international break, suggesting that the forward has avoided any serious injury after also coming off in the Champions League.

Despite both Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah coming on as substitutes, Liverpool still lost 1-0 to Galatasaray away from Anfield, with the Reds falling to 17th in the league table.

It was believed that Alisson could be sidelined for under four weeks, having pulled up with a hamstring issue in Turkey, but a new update has now emerged on the goalkeeper's fitness.

Alisson set to be sidelined until after the international break

According to The Athletic's David Ornstein (2 October), Alisson is likely to return to action for the Reds after the November international break following a new scan on his injury.

The goalkeeper is set to spend six weeks on the sidelines, which would see him miss several key matches as Slot's team attempts to push for Premier League and Champions League titles this season.

Giorgi Mamardashvili replaced the Brazilian for the final 35 minutes against Galatasaray, and while he was not needed to make a single save, he commanded his area well under such circumstances.
