Insider makes 'massive' Romero prediction and claims Tottenham have potential superstar in their ranks
Cristian Romero could become a superstar at Tottenham on the evidence of a “brilliant” display against top-tier Aston Villa attackers.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Romero impressed against Aston Villa on what was his third Premier League appearance.
The defender recovered after losing possession twice in the opening 60 seconds as Spurs returned to winning ways.
Wenham was so impressed he wants to see Romero become a permanent fixture in the side for the next decade.
“Romero was very good,” Wenham told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“He has a very shaky first 48 seconds where he lost the ball twice but after that, he was very disciplined and I was very impressed.
“People on social media say all sorts of things, good and bad. But it was certainly Romero’s best performance.
“He looked better than how the rest of our centre backs look on their best day. There is a really high ceiling there.
“Romero needs to be our Roberto Ayala, that top tier Argentinian centre half who wins everything in the air.
“I know his English isn’t great but it is improving based on what I’ve seen on social media. I think he’s going to get even better on and off the pitch as the season goes on.
“Romero was solid yesterday, brilliant, especially up against two forwards I rate very highly. I think it’s the first time Ings hasn’t scored at the new stadium.
“Villa have very good attacking players and Romero kept them quiet. He made very few mistakes.
“I want to see him become a permanent fixture for the next decade, he’s at the right age to do that. He can be massive”.
