Insider reveals Tottenham snubbed three current Premier League stars before they were big names
Tottenham passed on the chance to sign three current Premier League stars before they were worth millions of pounds.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
According to Wenham, Tottenham rejected recommendations to sign Leicester pair James Maddison and James Justin before they became top-flight stars.
It was also revealed how club chiefs passed on signing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze before he made his Premier League move.
These players came recommended by longstanding Spurs scout David Pleat – also their former manager – who Wenham recently revealed suggested Jarrod Bowen to the club before he moved to West Ham.
Wenham insists Tottenham would be much better off if these players had signed and urged the club to listen to Pleat more often.

“I’ve said before how incredible of a scout David Pleat is,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I wish we had listened to him on more occasions. He recommended Dele Alli to the club and really pushed for his signing.
“But three players I know we missed out on when they were up and coming are James Maddison, Eberechi Eze and James Justin.
“All of these players would improve our first team but we didn’t listen and they have gone on to be top players.”
Justin and Eze are yet to kick a ball this season after they both picked up long term injuries in the late stages of the 2020-21 campaign.
Maddison was linked with a big money move to Arsenal this summer but remains a Leicester player.
