Tottenham insider claims swoop for Toney is 'one to look out for' next year
Tottenham could make a summer move for Ivan Toney if Brentford get relegated.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As it stands, Harry Kane is the only out and out centre forward in the senior Tottenham squad.
Last season, Spurs loaned Carlos Vinicius from Benfica to provide backup for Kane but did not choose to sign him on a permanent basis.
The club did not sign another forward in the summer but Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn can play further forward if required.
Kane is struggling this season and is now goalless in five Premier League outings after failing to find the net against Arsenal on Sunday.

Toney, 25, was the subject of much speculation in the summer after a stunning Championship campaign in which he scored 31 goals.
Wenham claims Toney will be a target if Brentford are relegated at the end of this season.
“One to look out for is Ivan Toney,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“This would perhaps become more realistic if Brentford go down. They aren’t looking like they will go down at the moment.
“They have got some brilliant results in the last few weeks. He’s one Tottenham should have gone for this summer.
“Now he has that Premier League experience the value will go up exponentially.”
Toney has scored two goals in four Premier League outings this season.
The Bees are currently ninth in the league after only losing one of their opening six games.
