Benfica attacker Daniel Candeias jetted into Glasgow on Thursday evening to discuss a permanent switch to Rangers, according to a report.
The Evening Times has claimed that the 29-year-old is now believed to be in Scotland to win a move to the Ibrox giants.
The experienced attacker has never played for Benfica since moving to the Portuguese giants from Nacional in 2014.
However, he has enjoyed loan spells in the German, French, Spain and Turkish top-flights during that time with each of FC Nurnberg, FC Metz, Granada and Alanyaspor respectively.
His most recent loan move was in Turkey with Alanyaspor where he spent the season in the last campaign, returning four goals and four assists in 29 Super Lig appearances.

The former Portugal Under-21 international will now be hoping his performances have done enough to impress Pedro Caixinha after the two worked together at Nacional.
The Portuguese manager is currently undergoing an overhaul of his squad and so far this summer he has brought in fellow nationals Fabio Cardoso, Bruno Alves and Dalcio alongside Scotsman Ryan Jack.
It is clear that the experienced boss is staying close to what he knows in terms of his transfers and Candeias may now be the next one through the doors.
Football Insider verdict:
Little is known of Candeias in Scotland or in the United Kingdom and it is fair to say that Caixinha has the best knowledge of him. Therefore, much like Mark Warburton suffered last season if any of these incoming transfers struggle to adapt to life at Rangers then the blame will immediately fall to Caixinha. However, given that Candeias once attracted Benfica into signing him then there must be something and this is certainly an exciting summer for the Gers fans with a lot of unknown quantities making the move over.
In other Rangers transfer news, the Gers have agreed a seven-figure deal for this goal-a-game striker.
