Jack Grealish is ‘weak’ and ‘lacks discipline’ – I know this well from our Aston Villa days
Jack Grealish has a habit of getting himself in a spot of bother on nights out, as former Everton chief Keith Wyness only knows too well.
Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, states that Grealish has a “weakness” when it comes to discipline off the pitch.
It comes after the 30-year-old was pictured asleep at a rooftop bar in Manchester on a Saturday night surrounded by empty glasses.
Grealish has spent the season on loan at Everton from Manchester City, and it is believed that David Moyes is keen to turn that into a permanent deal this summer.
Everton are currently without Grealish due to a broken foot, and he has not made an appearance for Moyes’ side since a 1-0 win at former club Aston Villa in January.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes the pictures were “not a great look” for Grealish.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness states that Grealish will be “disappointed” in his actions.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s a situation with Jack that I have encountered, certainly with my time with him.
“There have been some naughty behaviors of a similar type. That comes with the territory with Jack, and there are obviously reasons around it. He is the nicest guy with the fans, and in general, but he does have this particular weakness of discipline.
“I’ve never seen him do it during the playing season. Obviously he’s injured right now and he’s off. But still, we know it’s not a great look, and I’m sure he’ll be the first to be disappointed in himself. But he has a weakness there. He’s a human being and that’s what people have got to understand.
“There was one funny story I remember when I was at Villa and whether this is actually true or not, but allegedly, Gabby Agbonlahor, who was the senior player in the squad at the time, Jack had been photographed. I think he was in a beater or something lying in a road after a big night out.
“Gabby took him aside, and as you’d hope the senior pro would do in the squad and have an arm around him and tell him what to do. And Gabby said, Jack, if you’re going to do this, don’t do it here, go to London and do it.
“Not quite the advice I was hoping for from a senior pro, but there we go.”
Chelsea holding out for £30m for Everton target
Grealish is not expected to be the only arrival at Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer, with Moyes looking to strengthen his squad in multiple positions.
Amid the goalscoring struggles of Thierno Barry and Beto, Moyes is exploring the market for a new striker with Premier League experience.
Sources have told Football Insider that Everton hold an interest in Chelsea striker Liam Delap, but the Blues will be looking for £30million for the 23-year-old.
Chelsea signed Delap for that price from Ipswich last summer, but the forward has delivered just two goals in all competitions this season.
