Jack Harrison: Fiorentina loanee’s performance vs Crystal Palace raises further Leeds questions
Jack Harrison has endured an unremarkable second half of the season since leaving Leeds United on loan for Fiorentina in January.
The winger was sent out after making just one Premier League appearance off the bench in 11 matches, and despite providing an assist early on in his Serie A stint, he appeared to have lost all momentum.
However, recent weeks have seen Harrison begin to catch fire away from Leeds, with assists in his last two Serie A games and his performance in Fiorentina’s victory over Crystal Palace on Thursday catching eyes.
The Italian side were ultimately knocked out of the Conference League after losing 3-0 in London last week, but can walk away proud having beaten the Premier League side 2-1 at home.
Ismaila Sarr gave the Eagles the lead before goals from Albert Gudmundsson and Cher Ndour flipped the game on its head, with Harrison’s showing giving Leeds transfer chiefs something to ponder.

Football Insider exclusively revealed this week that Leeds plan to sell Harrison this summer, and performances like Thursday’s will help drum up interest.
Incredibly, the 29-year-old still has two years remaining on his deal at Elland Road, despite having spent just two full seasons with the Whites since his 2021 arrival.

The forward now cuts an unpopular figure at Leeds, and fans will be glad to see the back of him this summer.
Harrison’s performance against Palace may well persuade Daniel Farke to have one final think, however.
The winger was up and down the right flank for Fiorentina, constantly posing problems for Tyrick Mitchell and Jaydee Canvot.
He created two chances, took a shot, drew two fouls, completed all of his attempted long balls and even made five recoveries on the night.
Farke will be aware that bringing Harrison back would be a hugely unpopular decision, but should Fiorentina pass up on the £6million option to buy, a decision will have to be made.
What Harrison has said about Leeds future
Fiorentina are not out of relegation trouble in Serie A yet – eight points above the relegation zone – but they are in a significantly better position, thanks to Harrison.
The winger has assisted the winner in consecutive league wins over Hellas Verona and Lazio in recent weeks.
Asked about his future following the win over Lazio, Harrison told FirenzeViola: “I am very happy in Florence, the city is incredible and so is the club.
“As for the future, any player would obviously be happy to play here. We will see what happens.”
