Jaidon Anthony audition: The 83% discovery that proves why Leeds must bring him back
Jaidon Anthony will likely be among the wide players considered by Leeds United ahead of this summer.
The winger spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Elland Road from Bournemouth, but failed to make an impression and was sent back at the end of the campaign.
He was back on Friday night as Leeds beat Burnley 3-1 courtesy of goals from Anton Stach, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Anthony assisted Loum Tchaouna, but it was merely a late consolation on the night for the already relegated Clarets.
Leeds transfer chiefs would have been watching Anthony, who has been a rare bright spot for Burnley this season.

Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider this week that Leeds are expected to spend £100million on new signings this summer.
The Whites will confirm Premier League safety if they beat Tottenham in London in nine days’ time, and they are hoping to push up the table next season.

While they could well do better than Anthony this summer, transfer chiefs will be paying close attention to the winger’s situation.
The 26-year-old started the season brilliantly, scoring against Sunderland, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Man City before September was over.
But as Burnley struggled for results, the England youth international’s goals dried up.
Anthony has had impressive performances against Brentford, Man United and Crystal Palace since, however, and he was in fine form against Leeds on Friday.
The forward’s pass for Tchaouna’s goal was excellently weighted beyond Pascal Struijk, and while his attacking impact was limited past that, he worked extremely hard.
The 26-year-old completed four recoveries, earned two free kicks and won the majority of his duels on the night as well as completing 83 per cent of his passes.
Anthony move could depend on relegation clause
Anthony’s move to Burnley from Bournemouth became permanent last summer when promotion was secured at Turf Moor.
The winger has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in the Championship, with his new club more than happy to pay the £8m fee.
He could be set to leave instantly this summer, however, and it will depend on what clauses were inserted into the deal he signed last summer.
Anthony’s contract may well involve a relegation clause, which will mean he can leave the club for a fixed fee this summer after the Clarets’ return to the Championship was confirmed.
It is unlikely that Burnley will stand in his way either way, but his contract until 2029 does give them power in negotiations to look for a sizable fee.
