Jamie Carragher reacts to Liverpool display against Man United

Jamie Carragher believes quality was lacking for both Liverpool and Manchester United in Sunday’s clash at Old Trafford.
The two famous rivals played out a 1-1 draw with a first half James Milner penalty cancelled out by a late Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal.
It was an encounter which lacked quality at times in the final third and Carragher believes the two sides will believe they can play better.
“Well I think you saw in the passing stats,” started Carragher speaking on Sky Sports 1 after the match.
“I think both teams gave the ball away lots, but it was a good game to watch even though the quality wasn’t there and I think both teams after the game would say they could play a lot better.”

Liverpool went into the match in fourth place and they would have been keen to earn all three points to keep within distance of league leaders Chelsea.
However, the stalemate has meant that they are now seven points behind Antonio Conte’s dominant side in third place.
The draw is also considered a bad result for United, who are sat all the way down in fifth.
Manchester City’s heavy defeat against Everton on Sunday means that Jose Mourinho’s side are just two points behind fifth, but there’s a four point gap between them and fourth placed Arsenal.
Liverpool’s next match will see them face Plymouth at Home Park in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, their next league game will see them take on bottom of the league Swansea at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men will be keen to return to winning ways having gone four matches without a victory in their last four matches in all competitions.
In other Liverpool news, a BBC pundit believes the Reds must do this in the January window.
