Pontus Jansson has delivered a huge boost to Leeds fans, by committing his future to the club.

Talking in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Championship clash with Sunderland, Jansson was asked if he would stay at the club next season.

He replied emphatically, "For sure."

He went on to say, as quoted by Leeds.Live, "This club changed my life, my football career.

"I said wanted to talk to people around the club. This club should be in the Premier League."

Football Insider verdict:

Strong words from Jansson and hopefully this will get the fans back on side. The no-nonsense enforcer put all the blame for this season on the players, and said the fans were too good for them. He backed Paul Heckingbottom (unsurprisingly) and made it very clear that he was going nowhere in the summer. The line about the club changing his life and his career will really resonate with fans and his ambitions are squarely lined up with everyone else connected with the club. He also explained his earlier comments about wanting to talk with the club about its ambitions by saying it was just to make sure everyone was on the same page - getting back in the Premier League. Great words from Jansson just when they were needed.
