Jarrod Bowen: Chelsea have clear advantage over Liverpool in race for West Ham star
Jarrod Bowen is attracting growing attention from England’s top clubs including Chelsea and Liverpool in case he suffers relegation with West Ham United.
The Hammers are preparing for a visit to Selhurst Park on 20 April, where a victory against Crystal Palace would see them move four points clear of the relegation zone.
However, defeat in that game would be a setback with Spurs facing Wolves up next, and relegation would have a massive blow on the Hammers’ long-term plans.
Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Bowen could be lured away from the London Stadium if they fail to remain in the Premier League next season.
The 29-year-old loves the club and currently has no plans to leave, but would be reluctant to play in the Championship, forcing West Ham to consider their options.

Football Insider revealed earlier this season that Liverpool are long-term admirers of Bowen and could finally attempt to lure him to Anfield.
However, Chelsea have now joined the race for his signature, and there is a feeling the opportunity to stay in London would give them the edge over their rivals.

Should Bowen reluctantly opt to leave West Ham, he will be keen not to leave the City where he has close personal relationships and has started a family.
“There’s always going to be interest in Jarrod Bowen,” Brown told Football Insider.
“West Ham, of course, will want to keep him at the club but the problem they have is it will depend on what happens between now and the end of the season.
“Chelsea are being linked with a move at the moment, and it’s one I’m not quite sure about.
“They’re in a difficult situation at the moment, lots of players aren’t happy and there’s speculation about whether they could be leaving, so will Bowen want to join that?
“The thing is, they do have an advantage over a few other clubs, because they’re in London.
“He wouldn’t have to move house or have any of the upheaval that comes with that, and that’s a positive because he’s obviously got a young family and connections there.
“That’s the major thing I can see being a positive in favour of a move to Chelsea, but whether he leaves West Ham or not, that’s a difficult decision if they go down.”
Why would West Ham let Bowen leave?
West Ham ideally want to keep hold of their best players if they survive the drop, but may be unable to do so, with multiple key players subject to interest.
Brown warned Football Insider last month that West Ham could be forced to sell Bowen as financial concerns have become a major issue in East London.

The Hammers have found themselves in a nightmare situation financially after reporting £104million losses and will need to sell players to balance the books.
While Bowen is believed to be well down the list of players the Hammers would be open to selling, he is also one of their most valuable, placing them in a tricky position.
The likes of Mateus Fernandes and El Hadji Malick Diouf are also believed to be attracting attention, while fringe players would likely be the first to move on.
