Jarrod Bowen: Everything West Ham talisman has said about David Moyes as Everton eye dream move

Jarrod Bowen is expected to leave West Ham United this summer, with Everton among a deluge of interested suitors.

The Hammers were relegated to the Championship last week, ultimately finishing just two points behind Tottenham.

Bowen is one of several West Ham players expected to seek moves back to the Premier League or elsewhere, with plenty of interest already mounting.

Especially in the case of the 29-year-old, who has scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in the top flight this season.

Everton transfer chiefs will have some cautious optimism over a potential move for the England international, who spent years playing under David Moyes.

Jarrod Bowen’s comments on David Moyes

Football Insider exclusively revealed last week that Everton are exploring a move for Bowen this summer, as they look to step up their Premier League prospects.

The Toffees ultimately missed out on European football by just four points in a massive disappointment, considering their last seven Premier League games ended without victory.

Though there were certainly plenty of positives to take for Moyes, who arrived at Goodison Park to a team fighting relegation in January last year.

The next step will involve more signings of the calibre of Jack Grealish, and there is likely no one he would like to sign more than Bowen.

The winger was brought to the London Stadium by Moyes in 2020 and scored 60 goals and provided 38 assists in 202 games under him, enjoying some of the best seasons of his career.

Bowen fired West Ham to the Conference League title in 2023 under the Scot, and the pair brought the very best out of each other.

When Moyes left in 2024, the forward said: “He is one of the best people I have worked with, and I had a chat with him in the week just to say thank you really.

“I wouldn’t be here without him. I wanted to do that to show how appreciative I am and will be going on through my career. I can’t just do it this season, I have to do it next season and the one after that.”

Would Bowen return to Moyes?

Bowen is yet to commit either way to leaving West Ham or staying on and attempting to get them out of the Championship.

It would be a huge ask for the forward, who is in his prime and may be staring down the last chance of his career for a huge move.

Everton may not be the exact level of move that he is after, but for the chance for another European run under Moyes, Bowen could well take it.

He said of Moyes in 2024: “Since I’ve been here, he has kept us up, avoided relegation and has made us European winners within three years, so that speaks for itself.

“I don’t think he will ever be forgotten here because of what he has done.”
