John Hartson has delivered his prediction for the upcoming potential title-decider on Sunday between Celtic and Rangers and the ex-Arsenal and Hoops striker reckons that Brendan Rodgers’ side will be too strong for the Light Blues.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil talkSPORT breakfast show broadcast on Thursday at 6am, when the presenter asked the Welshman who he felt would win the fixture he said bluntly: “Celtic will be too strong for Rangers.
“From a Celtic point of view they will be right up for it.
“They’ll want to stick it to them.”
The Gers haven’t beaten Celtic since they won 3-2 in the 2011/12 season – a feat that doesn’t look like it will be repeated any time soon.
There are reports suggesting that Mikael Lustig could be out of the game with a broken toe to give the Light Blues a slither of hope amidst talk that Steven Gerrard could be about to become the Gers’ new manager.
Football Insider verdict:
Hartson was never going to say anything different given his connections to Celtic but it’s looking more and more likely that the Gers could be in for a hiding. With so much talk about the managerial position and the fact that the Light Blues have gone into meltdown off the pitch, it makes it difficult to argue with the former Bhoys forward. It will be a bitter pill for Light Blues fans to swallow though, as they are the ones who will have to witness Celtic bagging their seventh title on the trot.
