Jordan Pickford to fume as Everton star falls down pecking order for Premier League award
Jordan Pickford should be in line for another Premier League award following his performances for Everton this season.
The England international is one of David Moyes’ biggest players, helping the Toffees in their push for European football, sitting four points off the Europa Conference League qualification spot.
Moyes’ side pride themselves on a tight defence, with Pickford boasting 11 clean sheets in 2025-26. However, Arsenal’s David Raya is way ahead on 18, so that award is not travelling to Merseyside.
The 32-year-old helped Everton over the line against Newcastle United back in February, pulling off a miraculous save to deny Sandro Tonali, but he could be about to have his thunder stolen.

Pickford pulled off one of the saves of the season when flying across his goal to deny the Magpies in the fourth minute of added time at St James’ Park.
Anyone watching instantly called for the Premier League Save of the Season award to go to the talented shot-stopper, but he could be about to miss out due to some actions in the current relegation battle.
Last season, the award went to Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez, almost warping time and space to save a shot from behind him against Nottingham Forest, and now there’s a new contender this season.

Pickford was a shoo-in thanks to his efforts against Newcastle, but Antonin Kinsky of Tottenham appears to have joined the race at the 11th hour after the 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Monday, 11 May.
Antonin Kinsky could be about to steal Everton star’s thunder
Given the circumstances, Kinsky deserves his plaudits, especially considering his awful performance in the Champions League, but an award might be a stretch too far.
Longstaff’s reaction said it all. He was speechless that Spurs’ No.31 had stuck out an arm and denied his effort from close range. It could be the difference between Premier League survival and relegation.
If Pickford isn’t the one lifting the Save of the Season award come May, though, he will have every right to be upset. The England international pulled off a worldie, a one-of-a-kind stop, against Newcastle.
But Kinsky was mentioned in the same breath on commentary, so it could come down to the wire.
Of course, the main target for the Toffees right now will be to qualify for Europe, but a piece of silverware on his mantlepiece wouldn’t go amiss, that’s for sure.
