Jurgen Klopp must bin Liverpool senior player in summer after shocker v West Brom
COMMENT
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp must bin Ragnar Klavan in the summer transfer window with his performance against West Brom on Saturday proving that the Estonian is nowhere near good enough to even be a squad player at Anfield.
Klavan, 32, will enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season so Liverpool must get rid of his as soon as possible to at least guarantee that they get some sort of fee.
He was completely unable to cope against a team that barely has any pacey players and it’s utterly worthless having him in reserve for when Klopp wants to rotate his squad.
It’s not really any surprise that the former Augsburg defender has barely played this season and he is only really getting game-time now because of the upcoming Champions League clash with Roma.
It’s pointless having passengers like him in the team and Klopp should still look to strengthen his defence over the summer, even though Virgil van Dijk has provided a massive improvement.
One player that the Reds should consider looking at is West Brom’s Jonny Evans, who at £3million, could be quite the bargain buy.
Arsenal and Manchester City have been widely linked with the Northern Ireland international over the last 12 months and Klopp should definitely join the race to sign him in the summer.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds are on the verge of signing an attacker from this second-placed club.
